Fior d’Albenga 2019 is the flower and ornamental plant showcase, known for its beautiful themed flowerbeds.
It takes place in the medieval centre of the Ligurian town and it’s enriched by a varied calendar of events.

Albenga, historically renowned for the production of potted plants, flowers and herbs that are exported throughout Europe, is hosting the colourful horticultural showcase Fior d’Albenga 2019.
The event, inaugurated on Saturday 20th April and remaining on display until the 12th of May, covers the whole of the town’s historic medieval centre with beautiful and fragrant flowerbeds.
The theme chosen for Fior d’Albenga 2019
“Italian songs” is the theme chosen for the 2019 edition of the horticultural event, consequently each of the specially created flowerbeds is inspired by a famous Italian song.
The centrepiece flowerbed in Piazza San Michele is shaped like an enormous guitar and is dedicated to “L’estate addosso” (literally “Summer all around us”) by Jovanotti. This theme is represented by a sea of blue flowers, the typical Ligurian “Gozzo” fishing boat, deckchairs and beach cabins.
Dedicating a flowerbed to this particular song was only natural, considering that Albenga has been selected as one of the venues for the highly anticipated Jova Beach Party in July.
Alongside the main flowerbed, you will find another dedicated to our local Ligurian native pond turtle Emys orbicularis ingauna. The song chosen for this flowerbed is “La bella tartaruga” (“The beautiful turtle”) by Bruno Lauzi.
